Very brief post. Been to my parents for the weekend; not feeling coherent right now, just sleepy. Anyway.

Update! And now some colours!

Obviously this is a digital photograph, not a nice scan, as there's not many scanners on the market with carpet in their lids, but it gets the idea across. Once I've got some colour on the background, I'll start getting the bits and pieces stuck down, then I can get it finished off. Yay! Now, see, with a face like that, how could you POSSIBLY conclude he was "up to something"?

I'm not sure which part to ask about first, but I'm leaning towards inquiring about what's on his head. Then about the pipe. Then the outfit. Then the gun...

The thing on his head is his halo, which has slipped. And he wouldn't look HALF as obviously-up-to-something if he didn't have the stick, now, would he? The outfit is just his usualy sharp-suit-and-tie, with the sleeves rolled up to keep them clean...

*pretends to edit self so that "and gun" fits in after "stick"* To be honest, the idea for the picture came from listening to "The Fallen" (http://keaalu.livejournal.com/44215.html) by Franz Ferdinand - I tried it once before but couldn't get the expression to come across the way I wanted, and then forgot about it. (I usually ignore the religious slant to the lyrics - it just seems to fit the character, as he's a "bad boy" but 95% of his actions are for fairly honest, logical, good reasons. )

Oddly enough, once it's in color, it all seems to be tied together better. Namely, I'm a lot less apt to question the involved components (though I still kind of wonder about the gun...)

That, and black is a good color for him.
