Ah, but we have a pretty good interest rate at the moment, it's only about half that in terms of Sterling, over here... ;)
And we all KNOW that furries and their ilk would rather spend their money on art instead of the essentialy, like "where am I going to live" and so on. *irony* ;)
Oh course, since I don't call myself a "furry", you don't call yourself a "furry", and your target auidence isn't exactly meant to be "furry," either, one has to wonder who/what exactly that comment was aimed at.
(That, and if we're talking writing works versus visual works, the ratio of money spent in the "fandom" tends to be different.)
Besides, you'd probably take a hit in shipping, being overseas and all. And it is a price per book...
Well, it was mostly a case of "I have noticed in my time on artists_beware..." and it was simply a "common ground" to reference. Plus, of course, I was going by the idea that a "certain fandom" may be the only people interested, much as it pains me. :( I mean, I adore "speculative biology" - I have books like "the wildlife of Star Wars" and "After Man" - but I don't know how big a field that is and if anyone else would be interested. :P

And a max size of 440 pages. Still, beats haggling with a publisher, especially considering the effort in getting one in the first place.
