Now, see, THIS is part of the reason I've never read Harry Potter and don't intend to:
OMG teh drama! - I loved the part where she seems to have singlehandedly taken responsibility for "keeping Rowling afloat", so to speak - "Your series has been a success, largely thanks to people like me (from both sides of the fandom) who have engaged with your work on such an intimate and detailed level." AAAAAaaaaahahahaha... :D :D *love* Um, no, it's popular with the kids, surely, THAT'S why it's a success? Bear in mind the author of the post is in her early/mid thirties. Sure I bitch about things I didn't like in a series or something, but JEE-sus, this is a work of art.

The post at the bottom weirded be out a little though - "Personaly I am a slasher and would love to see Harry and Draco together or Harry and Ron but in the still anti-gay society we live in the main character of the series could never be Queer nor could anyone around him in a series written for the young."
...um... they're still kids in most of the books, right? So... still like 14/15? So... writing slash between Harry and Draco would be, oh, I don't know, fookin' paedophilia? I don't know if it's just me, but you know, I don't think it's anti-gay, it's a desire not to read about underage boys fucking. Aside, of course, from the fact it's designed for KIDS in the first place. This gives me the creeps in the same way "babyfurs" do. *twitch*
