Title (chapter): Remember Me (08)
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: In which we discover that Earth-bound Autobots are watching completely the wrong things, and if/when her family get her back, Skydash is going to have a very interesting vocabulary.

Yes, I am still working on this! Slowly slowly slowly. A combination of work and study is eating most of my writing-energy these days. *goes back to sleep*

In Nemesis’ monitoring room, it had been quiet for a while. Ramjet wasn’t entirely sure what that meant. He wondered for an instant if the brat had actually died? Or vanished somehow – wouldn’t be the first sparkling with the annoying ability to walk through walls, after all. In the bottom of the bucket, Skydash was cuddled down into a ball, hugging her knees. Still alive, fortunately. )

Look at this! OMG. 😍

My awesome friend Exie (who is totally NOT a brick) wrote a ficlet that follows on from the one I just posted, with the exception that hers is infinitely more adorable.

Take the Initiative

Title: Take the Initiative
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13 I guess? Do TF cusswords count as swearing? *ponders*
Notes: Tired of watching Celerity allllways sighing at TC's office door, Skywarp takes the initiative to play matchmaker. It doesn’t go quite as planned, but it isn’t a total disaster, either.

Not sure precisely when this is set, other than "some time between Future Tense and Remember Me".

And additional NB: Lara is a BIG girl – not quite as big as Hardline, but close (taller than new-model Seekers, definitely), and built rather like a brick outhouse. She's... not sure how much she likes being THAT BIG.

“Grounders,” Skywarp snorted, deliberately baiting Thundercracker's deputy for a response. “Never can handle their high-octane fuels.” )

Title (chapter): Remember Me (06)
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Muuuch later than I wanted, but it's better late than never, right?

In which Skywarp comes up with a plan to rescue the kids! It’s a terrible plan, but it’s better than no plan at all – right, Screamer? He probably ought to have run it past his bros before swinging straight into carrying it out, though.

Slipstream had already lost track of the number of times he’d been sent sprawling, when his captors finally hustled him into a cell and kicked his feet out from under him again. )

All Begins with "P"

keaalu: A particularly useless cycle lane. (Cycle-route terror)
...plagiarism, passive-aggressive, petty, pranks, and paint!

Skywarp doesn't have a whole lot of good ideas, but when Starscream SOMEONE steals the few he does have? Well.

Prepare for war, dudes.

Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Notes: This year hasn't started out fantastic, from a creative point of view, which is what gave birth to this little short. Trying to get it out of my system, haha. A vindictive Skywarp and exploding paintcans was the easy part; it was difficult to figure out how to start it, though, so I'm sorry it's a little rushed / untidy. I am apparently the queen of passive-aggressive. (I uploaded the rough draft of this to another site the other day; never doing THAT again. I’m only sharing drafts with people I trust, from now on.)

For the record, TC is more immediately worried about getting the paint off the bathroom. Screamer will probably be sullen and embarrassed if they have to chip him out of a paint straightjacket, but he will be unbearable if he can’t use the washracks.

Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: For reference, this is set just after "Needs/Wants". (Which I just realised I didn't upload here, for some reason... I'll fix that later. I actually wrote this around August last year, just didn't post it for reasons.)

Since their little spark-to-spark, Pulsar has started seeing TC in a slightly different light.

Working alone, late at night, in a poorly-lit office, was having a different benefit-disadvantage ratio to the one Pulsar had anticipated, and she wasn’t sure it was turning out to be as good an idea as she’d hoped. )

Aviation Flu

keaalu: Three colourful speech balloons (Coloured balloons)
Title (chapter): Aviation Flu
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: The other day, I caught a cold. I’ve been lucky and not had a bad one in years, so I suppose it was due. On the bus on the way home, Skywarp came out in sympathy. Misery loves company?

“Aviation Flu” is courtesy of a colleague who accidentally called avian flu that a few times; I used to like to wonder if it was what you caught if you worked with aeroplanes? But actually, maybe it’s what you catch if you are an aeroplane.

It was obvious from the moment Pulsar came online, to find her Seeker venting excessively warm air and with pumps that seemed to be buzzing, that Skywarp wasn’t in particularly good health, that orn. )

This one's actually on time, though!

Title (chapter): Remember Me (05)
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: In which certain old "friends" finally answer the phone, but didn't count on two teleports foiling their attempts at theatre.

It really shouldn’t have taken this long for their call to Earth to be answered. Starscream paced and muttered to himself the whole time. ''They’re doing this on purpose. Keeping me waiting.'' )
keaalu: I say I am writing, but actually I have a game of solitaire open (nano procrastinate)
Iiiii should have posted this a week and a half ago but I am terrible at remembering to post anything on here. ¬_¬

Title (chapter): Remember Me (04)
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: In which Slipstream realises just how big this thing might be that he and Dash are caught up in, and Starscream finally gets back from New Vos to a hostile welcome.

The command centre on Nemesis was every bit as sickly purple and ostentatiously oversized as Slipstream remembered it. He didn’t remember ever seeing it from THIS angle, though. ''Show proper respect to your new master, scum!'' )
keaalu: (Default)
Title (chapter): Future Tense (14)
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Where Skywarp flies out to New Vos to avoid Thundercracker I MEAN visit his fellow alien-abductee, and gets a little useful information to add to his campaign to get-starscream-interested-in-this-if-it-kills-me. You can't avoid your wingmates forever, though. And didn't anyone ever tell you that saying "if it kills me" is really tempting fate...?

Anger Mismanagement

Thursday, 7 May 2015 12:00 am
keaalu: (Seem icon)
Series: Transformers, G1-based “Blue” AU
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Everybody knew a sparkling raised by former Decepticons would have an element of violence in his upbringing, but nobody expected quite such a huge change in Slipstream's behaviour - from that bright-eyed, friendly sparkling to a hostile, belligerent adolescent. Just what has happened since his family's trine crashed out of the war to work such a huge burr into his plating?

Just a "short" (haha okay it's almost 9000 words) set in the Blue AU; trying to get myself back into writing. ^_^
Prompt: Anger

''Not meaning to be rude, SIR, but why precisely am I here.'' )

A/N: Sorry again for the delay, haha. I just thought I’d got my groove back… and my PC decided it wasn’t going to play by the rules. (To the extent that I had to buy a whole new damn PC before I could get on with writing. Argh.)

A little bit of something that I've been playing with, since I saw the prompt "wearing each other's clothes" in a meme. ^__^ (I'm totally not putting off struggling to finish a chapter of FT, honest)

-----------

After working all through the night, helping co-ordinate a rescue after a derelict skyscraper had collapsed on the Rustig border, Thundercracker was tired. He sat in the big chair facing the huge window, watching a flier stitch contrails into an insipid mackerel sky, nursing half a cube of high-grade and waiting for the sun to show itself before finally retiring to his room to get some much-needed down time.

He pinched the bridge of his nose and concentrated on bleeding off a little of the pressure in his helm. Getting all the injured parties out from under the rubble and shipped off to hospital had been fairly draining, and he could really have done with Skywarp’s help, but the teleport had been in a particularly funny mood. He’d mainly just got under everyone’s feet, before finally disappearing and turning off his locator beacon altogether.

It was only a general lack of energy that stopped Thundercracker going in search of his errant wingmate and delivering the well-earned punch in the head that had Skywarp’s name on it.

Calm, TC. Think how nice and cool and fresh your energon is. Think how good it’ll feel to get all your gyroscopes rebalanced, all your coolant lines depressurised, all your memory defragmented. When you get up, you’ll feel like a new mech.

He watched the sun begin to peek over the horizon, blushing an insipid morning sky with a subtle pink glow, and snorted at himself. Once I’ve strangled Skywarp, maybe. He deactivated his optics and allowed the play of morning sunlight across his enamel to lull him into a pleasant doze.

He was at the point of finally offlining altogether when the shrill squeal of outrage blasted into his awareness, rudely stripping away the layers of comfortable dormancy. Worryingly, it was male. More worryingly, it wasn’t Starscream. The blue Seeker leaped out of his chair, barely maintaining his sleepy balance, and collided with one of the easy chairs, already looking for attackers-

The house appeared to be empty… save for the raised voices, coming from Skywarp’s suite. Great. Knocking the bolts out of his wingmate's thick head could wait until he'd dealt with whoever was trying to kill him. Punching the fragger was a privilege only trinemates were party to.

Thundercracker launched himself at the upstairs level, narrowly avoiding crashing into the skylight, and vaulted over the mezzanine wall, already broadcasting an emergency code to unlock the door.

Barging through, weapons charged and ready for anything, he was not prepared for what he found. “What in Pit-?”

Two strangers occupied the berth. A large, bemused, mostly-white female Seeker with blue cheek flashes and a smooth helm, and a small, dark bike, glaring at his hands with a murderous expression in his crimson optics, blazing hot enough to melt sheet metal. It was the hottest, most baleful crimson glow the blue jet had seen in a long time, very nearly bright enough to light the entire room.

Or-… wait. The closer Thundercracker looked, the more he realised that the pair weren’t so unfamiliar, after all. The big femme bore the trademark police Battenburg in blue and yellow, the vivid squares marching up each wing, and in place of audio venting, she bore a rounded blue crystal lens on each side of her head. By contrast, the little dark mech was primarily black, with a smart silver “waistcoat”, and extremities such a lurid purple that it couldn’t be anyone other than-

Skywarp?” Thundercracker finally let his hands drop back to his sides, and straightened up, able only to gawp.

keaalu: Why are you being so gullible and out of character? (Gullible OOC)
Can you believe it? Close to 2 years after I last posted something (seriously, it was the 7th July 2011 - I was sure it was later than that), I HAVE A NEW CHAPTER TO UPLOAD!

Title (chapter): Future Tense (chapter 10)
Series: Transformers, G1-based (“Blue” AU)
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Sometimes, figuring out where you are involves a little more than just updating your maps. Skywarp finds himself swimming against the tide, somewhat.

Just a little newsy thing: I have finally* got my invite through for "Archive of Our Own" and begun to set things up! I'll link to it once I've worked out what the URL is, haha.

I'm going to be uploading the Blue trilogy over there, first of all, but I'll be editing them a little first - not hugely, and not really too much "plot wise", but the grammar is horrible and the start of "Screaming Blue Murder" is a little wobbly, since I wasn't too familiar with how the characters wanted to come across. (TC and Warp were somewhat surprise additions, if I'm honest. I'm glad they decided to join in, though.)

(* I requested the invite on 25/09/2012. I got the invite on 01/12/12, so it's a sliiight lie that I "just got" the invite. The sentiment is fairly unchanged, though.)

Edit: All right, I think this is the address to use. There's nothing there yet is all, haha.

Impending gardening

Friday, 27 July 2012 02:00 pm
keaalu: (dusk)
I need to do some gardening this weekend, otherwise Thundercracker will get a chance to consolidate his bid for kitchen dominion. ¬_¬

Last saturday, Mum gave me a "Mina lobata" (Mexican firecracker, aka "ipomoea lobata") vine seedling. Since seeing one in their garden, it has become one of my favourite plants, and it crops up in my art all over the place, examples:
...in Mirii's hair
...being carried by the little green bird.

It was only a couple of inches tall when she gave me it - short enough to fit inside a sandwich bag with its pot, with room to spare...

...the little seedling has subsequently grown about two feet in the last week. ¬_¬ It has also latched onto the pinks in the kitchen windowsill and is using them as a frame to climb up.

I have called it "Thundercracker" (come on, how could I *not*) and am hoping he survives when he gets out on the balcony.
Thundercracker pt1 Thundercracker, pt1
This was such a weedy little thing when Mum gave it to me - probably only about a third as tall as this? In two days, it's grown a good few inches. It's surprising me how fast it's growing, actually.
Thundercracker, pt2 Thundercracker, pt2
Two days later, and he's moved to the kitchen (sitting in the French window was frazzling him a bit, in that little pot). Mr Pink evidently makes a good climbing frame.
Thundercracker, pt3 Thundercracker, pt3
....and we have another inch or two of growth! He's obviously beginning his bid for dominion of the kitchen by strangling the "Reservoir Pinks".

...I dream to think what I'm going to find when I get home. I can't be continually unwinding him off stuff XD.

Title (chapter): Future Tense (09)
Series: Transformers, G1-based (“Blue” AU)
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Ugh. Sorry this one's taken sooo looong. (I seem to say that every time, but this time it's particularly true. 7 months, erp.) I've had another couple of stories on the go at the same time, and ended up getting writer's block on them all. I still haven't QUITE got over it, but egh. This is mostly another talky non-chapter – I'm having issues with my plot. XD There's some gremlins got in here and caused some odd formatting since I uploaded it - random numbers have popped up in the middle of some words - I think I caught it all, but it's getting late, so if I missed any, I apologise.

‘‘Future Tense’’, Chapter Nine )

Title (chapter): Future Tense (08)
Series: Transformers, G1-based (“Blue” AU)
Rating: PG-13
Notes: Haha wtf, HOW long did you say between updates? Sorry I've been soooo slooow. This WOULD have been up a lot sooner, but Skywarp was misbehaving, then NaNoWriMo got in the way.

To answer the few questions I've had directed at me: no, I am not refitting the characters so they look like those strange, bendy-looking designs from the newer "Animated" series. (To be perfectly honest, that people might think that hadn't even occurred to me, so I apologise to those people who were getting worried – or vice versa.) Starscream (rightly or wrongly) pointed out that you can't bitch about the energy crisis, but still continue on the exact same way you have been down the millennia. In my mind's eye. I "see" something more like a tetrajet, just with bilateral (not trilateral) symmetry, so sort of "flatter", and with broader wings. Root mode is essentially G1, just slightly "lighter"/less bulky.

Edit: Thanks to skywarped for spotting my timeline flubs. XD I hope it reads a little less confusingly now. :)
