Work is just mad – I’m having a ball, for once, I’ve not been back to the dispensary in weeks. It’s great. :) Last week was my chance to visit different parts of the hospital, so naturally I picked the more surreal places – I hadn’t realised just HOW noisy a MRI scan was! You have to wear ear-protectors to be scanned, as it’s like laying inside a giant road drill.
This week – and for the next two – I’m working for Boots in town. Can’t say it’s my favourite place to be – I’ve done plenty of community pharmacy work, for Co-op and Sainsbury’s, and it got boring after a very short while. “Pick and stick”. *razz* Even with all the excitement about the new contract and supplying to nursing homes and cholesterol testing and crap, it’s still mostly pick’n’stick. The people are great, but just dispensing endless prescriptions is… mind-numbing. I miss my ward (and its full complement of mad patients) already. :( They DO have free toffees at work, though, and on Friday was the last day of one of my temporary-colleagues, so we had a mini-party in the dispensary. Very bad practice, I think, but the cakes were nice.
It’s funny how we get with the weather – that first day of heavy snow (was it Wednesday?) and half the staff didn’t turn up at work. It’s like half an inch of snow = cue end of the world! What is THAT all about? “Severe weather warning” for ooh, guess what, an INCH of snow. *blinkblink* The Scandinavians laugh at us, I’m sure; they get a few foot and just get out the gritters and snowploughs and carry on as normal, we get an INCH and the travel network just screams, has a fit and collapses like a wet paper bag. Meh.
And finally been arting again, rather than silly doodles. Yay! Been plunking them down on the Oddworld Forums (where some of the reactions greatly amused me :D ) as well as devART, which may be easier navigated, I don't know... *shrug*
Need dinner now. Yay.
