keaaluNow, see, THIS is part of the reason I don't consider my fiction to be "furry", and part of the reason I'm hesitant to associate myself WITH furry. (Saw it on the new art page on VCL and later on VCL Horrors).

Now, I don't consider it a HORROR, per se - it's pretty blah to be honest - but it's the fact there's so many things like this gets on my nerves. Partly, it's the whole "yeah, I'm, like, some noble, mystical reincarnated spirit of a powerful, agile, peaceful Anubis lookalike and I just LUUUURVE watersports (and I don't mean like water polo)." And partly, it's the whole "Yeah, liek, this is my new species, and, liek, they're all cool and mystical and noble (and they only look like fox-cat-bunnies because that's a coincidence), and they have this liek fantastic considerate society, and they only happen to talk like American emo-teens and bitch and whine and fuck all the time because IT'S A BIG COINCIDENCE, you know?" (best said in a bored middle-school teenager voice).
(Mind you, this is the other reason - furry has such a load of WANKERS in it when it comes to art. "In my spare time, I like to write how to draw books. I only have one for sale now, but I plan on making more soon!" Guess the author of the quote! I am seriously tempted to actually BUY one while the pound is so strong and it'd be cheap to do so, just to see how full of scanner-spots and comic sans and bad anatomy it is, and so everyone else can beware of it, but then that'd just encourage her to do more, right?)

Somebody HAS to learn how to use a ruler. Plus, some of them look spookily like my Ondrai. :P

Date: 5 Jan 2006 12:19 am (UTC)I can accept the fact the both sex and pornography do have a large part of the fandom. I'd rather it wasn't all that ever got focused on. Of course, that won't make it go away, either. I just try to avoid the subject, the people who can't keep their minds off such things for more than two seconds, and the places where such subjects breed almost as rapidly as the pictured .... whatever they can be called (some might say 'Characters", though that implies any actual intellegence went into their creation).
I'll check out the links later, when I have a secure enough connection and think my mental stamina can handle it.
As for the author of the included quote - not a clue, sorry.
