Mini rant. Boring, but I had to get it off my chest.
Why is “Planet’s Funniest Animals” so incredibly UNfunny? I had the TV on without the sound on while I waited for something else to start on ITV (it takes about 10 minutes to tune in, and I can't stant the commentary on these "clips" shows, so I put the sound off while I wait) and all I saw was: dog has head stuck in hamster ball, dog has head stuck in cornflakes packet and keeps walking into things, skunk has head stuck in yoghurt pot (no attempts made to REMOVE said articles from animals’ heads). Hamsters running in hamster wheel. Cat playing with cat toy. Dog playing with dog toy. Flamingo filter feeding (and yes, that was all it was – just a flamingo, sweeping its beak back and forth in the water, filter feeding, as millions of flamingos do every day. Somehow this constituted “funny”.) Oxpecker removing ticks from giraffe. Skunk stuck in shoe. Dogs fighting over dog toy. Little iguana sitting on back of larger iguana. Bear catching salmon jumping up waterfall. 75% of these OMG LIEK SO FUNNY CLIPS being animals doing what animals do naturally. The only thing that raised a smile from me was the cat using a human lavatory, evel going so far as to flush it. :P Without the voiceover, it’s unfunny, and WITH the voiceover the presenter gives me an attack of SHUT THE HELL UP BEFORE I COME OVER THERE AND TWAT YOU ONE.
Someone tell me, because I think I’m missing the point, HOW ARE THESE SO FUNNY THEY NEED A WHOLE TV SHOW?
The "working on site" has been superseded by "tidying room" so the former will have to wait. I'm still redoing profiles - Ivy's will be next - so... yeah. Boring.
And oh Jesus help us all, there's going to be YET ANOTHER series of the X-Factor. *cries*
