Tuesday, 22 January 2008 01:08 pmKeaalu's word list - taken from "Word of the Day", hence why they're all odd. They're all random, as well - there's plenty of words in here I have NO idea if I can use, but eh.
inculcate furtive vicissitude recondite appurtenance derogate pertinacious impugn postprandial aubade otiose putative doyen parse extant plenary emblazon gauche incarnadine convivial slake gnomic neoteric galvanic undulant nebbish impecunious desideratum malcontent braggadocio collegial abed manumit agog sobriquet lascivious stoic moil gravitas apothegm virtu requisite perforce languid abscond stertorous sporadic tchotchke chimerical cavort rapprochement metier gainsay recalcitrant callow nonage truckle simulacrum supercilious prevaricate nonagenarian bombast sciolism pugilist cognoscente extraneous bowdlerize veritable supervene tutelage equable impassive idee fixe enunciate mulct ululate fatuous urbane nonplus refractory forcible itinerant gloaming rapport obviate agitprop ameliorate vim denizen flibbertigibbet descry doughty cajole probity autocrat turgid accede internecine perspicacity grandee supposititious explicate presentiment prepotency quotidian chicanery corroborate felicitous profligate desideratum profuse succor arbiter pervicacious sagacious riposte malapropos multifarious bombinate Argus-eyed nascent sotto voce plangent titivate provender bloviate bucolic enmasse deracinate coeval eschew staid sunder tortuous effrontery hortatory extricate sui generis eddy fulminate hector defenestrate vagary wan clarion nonpareil propitiate salmagundi clemency hypnagogic lapidary serendipity incongruous largess inveigh monomania cudgel commensurate comport malaise connubial efface specious leitmotif tocsin expropriate pablum ostracize satiety fecund egregious canard glabrous equivocate
Now I have to work out if I can use them all. ¬_¬ Well, Yannis is "prissy", Sei is wordy and Mirii just uses odd words, so eh.

Date: 23 Jan 2008 07:42 pm (UTC)But OMG, what is this? Someone who works in pharmacy and can also draw? I too am a slave to the dispensary, and I’ve never met anyone with the same hobby.

Date: 23 Jan 2008 08:02 pm (UTC)And ooh, you're pharmacy too? Hurrah! :D I thought my artly tendencies were just an abberrance - even at Uni, I didn't know anyone else arty. ¬_¬ I only know one other person at my work who is vaguely arty, and that's one of the technicians, who does scrapbooks and card-making. Are you community or hospital? :)
*dances about*

Date: 23 Jan 2008 08:12 pm (UTC)I work in community in-store pharmacy. But not Boots! =O Srs business. Though I want to move into different employment for a change, and hopefully somewhere that pays a lot better with a little less stress! Are you pre-reg or registered?
Everyone I’ve met in the profession has shown an interest in the fact that I can draw, but none of them can do more than a few squiggly faces themselves. I think it’s a passion that most find to be more of an “exotic curiosity!”

Date: 23 Jan 2008 08:24 pm (UTC)I hear you about the "exotic curiosity". Seems to have been the same for me - with the obligatory "oh wow you should draw for {insert famous animation studio of choice here} you'd be great etc." *hruffs*

Date: 24 Jan 2008 12:16 am (UTC)Classic line “why don’t you apply to Disney?!” Just genius. I’ll just drop them a bell and see if they’re accept applications. My lack of formal art background won’t hinder me, nor my total loathing for the style.

...and the fact that having any grounding in art is an irrelevance when most "animators" are expected to just recreate the same image over and over and over ad nauseum...

Date: 25 Jan 2008 09:02 pm (UTC)But after all that I still don’t know if I have the nerve to the 4 years, and the pre-reg boredom, and the reg exam. What happened which made you re-take year one?

Date: 28 Jan 2008 08:51 am (UTC)My four (well, five, but eh) years at Uni literally flew by - to be honest, it was starting at Uni that I "rediscovered" art in the first place - and the pre-reg isn't so bad if you get accepted into a good pre-reg course. And of course it pays pretty well - I managed to buy my own place and get a mortgage, last year. (My one gripe is that I don't have as much time to do MY things as I'd want, any more, now I'm on the on-call rota. :()
