...methinks the writer of the question needs to study moar, and actually, y'know, get the facts they're misquoting CORRECT before they post them to a significant proportion of the internets. :P

Hyaena female does not have a "penis". She has a pseudo-penis, which is something completely different, and as much to do with dominance displays as it is sex.

And I knew this even BEFORE meeting those furries I know. *omg shock*

Edit: lol, people are correcting the person who posted the "writer's block" question on his/her ElJay.

Yeah. female hyenas only appear to have penii, since the high testosterone levels made scientists think they were hermaphrodites for quite some time. We now know better, of course.

This. They have a "phallus", true, but not a PENIS. And they give birth through it. (Ow) I particularly want to know who studied fieldmice and determined they only sleep facing northwest. Enquiring minds desire proof!

They face the rising/setting sun? Migrating birds have been observed to "face" the direction they plan to travel, I think turtles have been shown to swim by magnetic fields (place them in a controlled magnet and you can make them turn). More an observation than a study I guess.

What's the strangest things I know about the animal kingdom? Two words: Penis Fencing. It's in regards to nudibranch (sea slug) reproduction.

Actually that's only the first one I can think of off the top of my head; I'm sure there are many more if I go back through my course notes. Yeah, my Invertebrate Zoology class was verrrying interesting. 0_o

And plants too, you wouldn't _believe_ some of the kinky things they get up to. ;)
