keaalu: Clear icicles dangling down on a chilly background (Icicles)
Tonight, I'm on-call.

This usually means, I cycle, because Ipswich Buses seem to think everyone living my end of town is safely tucked up in bed by 8pm so they don't have to run ANY services after that time. (The last bus from the hospital on the number 6 route is 19:40.) (Disclaimer: All right, I can understand their logic, if only one person catches the bus - which used to be quite common on the late night services - it's not financially viable. It doesn't make it any less annoying, though.) I'm not a fan of cycling in the rain, especially on the way TO work, because it means taking even MORE clothes to change into, and having wet hair etc for most of the morning.

This morning, I looked out of my window, and what did I see?

Yep. Little flakes of white stuff gently floating down.

OK world, I reached my break point. Sorry, Whites, but NOPE.gif. I'm getting the bus.

What is particularly annoying is that in the 20 minutes or so between me getting up and me making a cup of tea, it appears to have distinctly settled. ¬_¬ And it's still falling. I'm going to have to finally break out the headsprout for the year.

Edit: Hurgh, Gmail. Your new "compose" interface might be "faster, cleaner and slicker", but why doesn't it FILL THE SCREEN? It's quite distracting to have it in the corner as a stray floating box like a chat window.

Edit2: By the time I left the house, we had about a centimetre of thin, slippery, sludgy white mush that was already melting. THIS IS NOT SNOW, world. And it's really hard to walk on. :( And because of the sheer volume of traffic out there (probably mostly from people getting in their cars to drive 200 yards), it made my bus 20 minutes late. (Bus should be at the stop about 7:40, got to the stop at 7:50, then it took 10 minutes to get out onto the roundabour at Sainsbury's. I'm usually AT WORK by 7:50)

Snow on the way!

According to the East Anglian Daily Times:
Freezing temperatures grip county as snow is on the way
Friday, February 3, 2012, 11:53 AM
SUFFOLK: Snow is expected to sweep across Suffolk tomorrow as the cold snap continues its grip on the region.
Forecasters at WeatherQuest in Norwich said a scatttering of the white stuff could settle tonight while tomorrow will start with flurries of snow before heavier blizzards develop into the evening as temepratures fall to around -2C.
However the weather is expected to get better over the course of the weekend with temperatures increasing by Sunday.
As the threat of snow looms ambulance bosses are urging the public to use their common sense and take care.
Gary Sanderson, spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service, wants to ensure people are stocked up on medication for long-term conditions, or minor coughs, colds and other ailments, and take all necessary steps to stay safe, warm and well. Pedestrians and motorists should also take care when out and about because of potentially icy conditions and freezing temperatures.

According to the view outside my window this lunchtime?

In other news, my free sample of new "Preciosa Twin" beads came yesterday! OK so you have to "like" them on Facebook, and then get a code, and then go to another website and put that code in and blah blah blah, but that's not exactly asking a lot to get a free sample of high-quality Czech beads. (And that's including the postage being free, too)
Exciting free sample! )

That Snow Angel

That Snow Angel... That Snow Angel...
(Click to engalrge <--wtf is that supposed to be? ERF too late to be making spell right. *clears throat* Click image to enlarge.)

Or should that be "...that's no angel!" ? Bwahaha.

"Button...? You know it's probably gonna be seen as bad luck when a snow angel has horns, right?"

Although all I can think right now is F'CK that's one HUUUUUUUGE scarf Skywarp's got, there. Maybe someone sewed a load of blankets together for him.

I have got another much stupider one to come - based off something verry stupid, in which someone I know said she needed some more "Hermesetas" (they're a type of sweetener, btw) but it sounded like "Hermy Seekers"... and me being me, having plumbed the depths of furry depravity with the aid of wtf_fa, instantly went "hermy Seekers? Wtf? OMFGWTFBBQ IDEA". The picture itself is ridiculously stupid, but I've gone way more stylised than normal on the expressions, and I might just have to adopt Warp's "WTF?! X_x " face for an icon. BWAHAHA
