Ta-da! Mirii, in Aztec/Maya glyph form!

...because Egyptian is so overdone, or something...

Okay, yeah, so I added a few Egyptian influences in there too, like the headdress and the "eyeliner". Anyway. Still working on my notes for NaNoWriMo, and figured I'd try and draw Mirii in that stylised "glyph-like" way the Aztec etc drew their deities in. I also guessed they'd make her look a lot more ferocious and goddess-like than she ACTUALLY looks - like this she looks a lot less like you could push her around. (In real life: "Oh, you want me to sit here while you paint strange symbols all over me? All right. Will it wash off? No? Oh well. Carry on. I'll think of something later.")

Not very anatomically accurate - the character doesn't have boobs, for one - and I had zero references pictures to hand. AND, of course, more importantly, I drew the damn thing on grid paper (managed to clean it up a bit with the scanner, but it added jaggies. C'est la vie). Oh well. Not too shabby for a first attempt, and not too bad for 5 minutes work. Going to get some reference images and try again later. May put her on the title page somewhere.

Have have HAVE to draw Suni as a glyph, now, though. I bet they'd give him wings or something. "Feather Demon that Guards Thunder Daughter", or something. :D Hurrah.

Wow, that's pretty cool. It's nice to see a different style like that now and then. :>

Yeah - nice though Ancient Egyptian is, it gets tired after a while... ;)

For some reason, it reminds me more of the old style eastern oriental dragons... they did have that kind of face. And tounge. Mostly I think it's what you did to the eye (and what's around it), and maybe the mouth..
