Whoa. Is it just me or has it been a while without a traditional "what am I doing now" update? :\

Oh well. Anyway! Yes. I have a busy weekend ahead, because I have 2 weeks off coming up (Q: "didn't you just HAVE a holiday?" A: "yes, and what of it? :P") and a LOT of stuff to get done.

So, anyway! Yes. I have to get my NaNo all planned out this weekend, because I STILL don't really have a proper handle on the storyline. To think, I was all planned out IN FRICKIN' AUGUST last year, pretty much. This year, 8 days to go? Noooooo problem. Flying-but-seat-of-pants-style is FUUUUN. Or something.

Plus, arts. I have some of my LAST YEAR's NaNo artings to finish. :\ And I still have to do my AAA one, hrrgh. And, AND! Christmas cards. I need to start getting THEM done, now. :\ Or they won't be ready in time for, you know, Christmas. :P I have some ideas what to put on 'em, but eh. I'll do the who-wants-one roll-call later. ;)

Reverse for me. Last year I decided to do NaNo the very DAY it started and somehow actually got the proper wordcount (and yet only now I'm coming up with an ending) and yet this year I've had the idea for the story since...when I was doing my first one.

Sadly, not as many robots, though. Roboticists in college, but no sentient robots. Oh well. Gotta write a prequel sometime, and there's no time like NaNo.

NaNo is awesomesauce for getting a good word output. *nods* It's funny, since doing NaNo I hadn't finished anything in YEARS, and since then I've completed about 300,000 words of story (over 200,000 of that on fanfic *sob*) AND finished another one, and damn does it feel good. :D

Sounds like you'll be a busy girl. I know better than to even _try_ NaNoWriMo, November is always the busiest time for me with my classes and work too. Plus I'm no good at the whole 'writing on a schedual' thing. My muse is a tempermental and unpredictable little creature and doesn't work well under stress. XD

Ohh, I don't write to a schedule, as such, I just have to have a target or else I boddle along and nothing gets finished. Winning NaNo last year was the first time I've finished a story in YEARS, and I think it's left me inspired because since then I've actually managed to get a second one finished (Screaming Blue). My muse needs stress, I think (or at very least a target of "upload SOMETHING today, girl") else it gets fat and lazy.

Problem is, I think this means I've shot and buried my inner editor. ¬_¬ I'm using NaNo principles (a little bit) for all my writing now - but then my target now is to try and keep people guessing about my twists and turns, because OMG PEOPLE READ IT OMG OMG *dies of the awesome*

Poor editor *pets* I'm the opposit, I'll spend hours rewriting one sentence or one paragraph until it feels right although it sometimes ends with me deciding it's all horrible crap and being too ashamed to post it. XD

I freely admit to being a bit of a grammar and canon Nazi althought I think it comes from reading Miss Cam's story 'The Official Fanfiction University of Middle-Earth' and hanging around the Protectors of Plot Continuum (PPC) message board (both of which by the way are awesome, particularly if you like Lord of the Rings and want all the Legolas Sues to die).

Oh, I USED to be way, waaay more pernicketty over stuff, until I realised (after NaNo last year) that I'd not actually FINISHED a story in... years. I'd just... twiddle at them. Fiddle the speech or the grammar a little bit. ¬_¬ Whiiich... wasn't very conducive to the whole getting-stuff-finished. So I figured maybe WRITING the darn thing first was the better option, then twiddling at it later.

Ha, I used to know a Legolas-Sue at university; elven princess with martial arts. (I'm not sure any got written or she just thought about it, but eh.) And I have been tryyyying to keep from running rampant a million miles away from canon, and keep the Sues out of my stories... *does big doe-eyes* (As much as I can, given the nature of the stupids I tend to write. ;))

Your OCs are awesome (especially Forceps) so you've got nothing to worry about. I created some pretty friggin' aweful OCs when I was younger, fortunatly they stayed in my mind and never made it onto paper or the Internet.

I get what you're saying about waiting until you're finished writing before revising (which I hope you'll do with Ch.3 of 'Warped', I want to read about the Buckethead incident ;)), but I think I'm too picky (or maybe the right word is 'anal') to write my stories like that. Of course all the stories I've written up to this point have been short and single-chaptered, so it does make editing things easier.
