  • 12:36 I r so smrt. Left my secret santa present at home. (Grr.) Have had to go home at lunch to get, so now no time for food. :( #
(or at least, I MIGHT have had time for food if my taxi had arrived on time, and the driver driven at more than 15mph :P)
  • 18:55 Why are community pharmacists teh suck? :( I'm still here and the git has gone home and left me in limbo. Should I just go home? Grr. #
(Lady rang up at 17:25 and asked about an insulin delivery device that her local pharmacy couldn't get hold of (Novo Nordisk didn't send one out, we're not sure why), and we liaised with her community pharmacist to be able to supply one - we had to get one off the diabetes centre. The guy was supposed to get in contact with her, then bleep my Boss's bleep so we could phone him back, and he'd tell us he'd made contact and we were okay to send the thing out to the patient by taxi. I wait until 18:30... nothing. I ring his pharmacy... answerphone. Git has just pissed off home and not kept up his end of the bargain. I had to phone my boss at his home and ask what had been arranged, and we ended up just taxi'ing the thing out to the patient ANYWAY. Grrr.)
  • 18:59 Next story has a title, BTW! "Future Tense" lol pun #

Update on the boiler situation: Arrrrgh now I'm not getting hot water from my boiler when I put the damn thing on AT ALL - timed or boost or anything. How the fuck am I supposed to have a shower?

Hmmm, I seem to recall you saying something about loving the cold... *ducks and runs* ;)

'Future Tense'? Is it Transformers story or one set in your own universe?

BTW I got your card in the mail yesterday. Thank you _so_ much, it's lovely and the stickers are awesome!

Tch! I said I'd rather be cold than HOT, because hot weather makes me rage. Besides, I didn't include the idea of taking cold baths ;P. (The flat itself is warm enough - I have stupid electric heaters, but it's well insulated and the neighbours seem to be going crazy with their heating, so I'm fairly cozy. ;) )

Yeah, "Future Tense" is sort of "SBM3" ;) So named because it's set in the future, and the characters are tense! Bwahaha, pun. I'm not sure I'll actually get as far as writing the thing, though - partly because I've got to finish "Warped" first, and partly because stories involving time-travel make my brain go a'splodey.

Glad you liked the card. :)

Oooh time travel, sounds like fun. How far in the future do they go?

Well, one of them (no points for guessing WHO) accidentally goes forwards about 60 years - but doesn't want to be there. And it's melting my brain because all I can see is paradoxes. How do I get him *back* into his past without him changing the future, because if he changes the future surely he won't know to go back in time and change it because it won't have happened but if he doesn't change it it'll happen and... *brain melts*

I guess I could cook it that some of the things he sees in the future happened because he triggered them, but that's still making my brain hurt. Bah!

Ah, so probably not far enough into the future so that everyone would be reformated into Maximals/Predacons - if you're familiar with Beast Wars/Beast Machines. The former, btw is a good show to watch if you're into time travel. ;)

On a side note, have you read the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey? Those books also deal with paradoxes and the dangers of time travel and such. They make good reading and RPG-fodder too. XD

I've not really seen much of the Beast Wars etc universe, actually - I have these vague memories of it from a while back, but it wasn't something I was ever massively into (to be honest, I can't believe it's taken me this long to have gone so asquee over G1. ¬_¬ )

I read a few of McCaffrey's books when I was at school, but not since. :)

...Time travel makes my brain hurt in whatever form it takes, so I have NO idea why I'm thinking of writing about it. :'( I'm'a go sit with Warp in the Stupid Corner.

Edit: Why have I got someone else's icon there? *is confused*

I was too young for G1 as it first aired a year before I was born, but Beast Wars was right in my ball park. I was obsessed with from about ages 12-15 and I recently came back to the fandom when I got into a discussion about it with my transformers-obsessed friend (this is the same friend who gave me the whole Rommel's-tank-is-a-transformer crack!idea).

Even as an adult I still find it a great series to watch. The CGI is crappy by today's standards but it was considered to be inovative when the show first aired. I find it considerably less campy than G1 and the smaller cast of characters is very well developed. I'd _really_ recommend watching it, but then I suppose I'm biased. ;)

In regards to the Anne McCaffrey books, the thing I was getting at was how similar Skywarp's ability to teleport is to the dragons' inate ability to go *between*, complete with the fact that if you don't have a good visualization of where you're going you're fucked. In the series it was discovered that dragons could go *between* times as well and that some things, like the five Weyrs disapearing and the Long Intervals were 'meant' to happen.

Alright, I'll stop geeking out now. XD
