Wragh! DRAMALICIOUSNESS in the unit today. *flails* We have seriously done the biggest mountain of chemo ever, including the outreach ones that we'd usually make the night before (but couldn't because it was a bank holiday and no-one was here to make). And guess what, they've made EVERYTHING ELSE late. And to cap it all the ward have brought down 4 extra chemos (IN ADDITION to the giant one we still have to finish off from weds) , and wonder why I went BRUAGH at them.

BRUAGH *flail*

In better news, ch14 will be up sometime later, when I FINALLY get a break and time to have some nommings.

Edit 15:08
Ok, seriously. The workload in this place today has reached unsafe levels of stupid. I don't often get stressed at work - I usually take things as they come and just work through it, but I've just been given the SIXTH chart for the ward (that's after 7 outreach chemos, about 25 in the day unit and a couple of random urology ones) so we've made about 50 individual pieces of chemo, and I am seriously at my break point. Anything else and... Well, I don't know what I'm going to do. Cry, probably.

Plus, I had to eat lunch on the run and I have killer indigestion. *buuurgh*

My New Year's Resolution is to say "no" more often. *huffs* Because seriously? I'm a fucking pushover, most of the time, and days like today STRESS ME OUT.

Edit 17:08
I have just took my last chemo of the day upstairs to the ward. JUST took it. Normally, on a friday, we do about 40 or 50 methotrexate syringes for rheumatology, AND thoroughly clean the room as well. NO frigging chance, today. Lucky we did the mtx the other day, and the room is just going to have to stay dirty.

Ch14 will be along... sometime later. Pfft. Whenever. My enthusiasm has been lorsted.

Happy New Year, bah humbug! >:(

Edit 20:10
Just so people know, I'm okay now. :) I've had tea and chocolate and finished my fish-bollocks stew, so all is good again.

Thanks. :) And I have. ;) I flailed all over the rest of the staff but I was okay as soon as 5pm rolled around and OMFG IT WAS ALL DONE.

That's good to hear.

(I tend to stay jittery and stressed for hours afterwards and if I don't get some proper peace and quiet it all mounts up until I just want to scratch out the eyes of anyone that gets between me and my book/computer/bed.)

*pets* Don't worry about the damn fic, just calm down and relax. The chapter isn't going anywhere and in general I think creativity suffers when the creator is exausted.

I'm okay now, I've had chocolate and tea, and I'm done throwing things out of my pram. I get all ranty and *FROTH!* really fast, but I calm down pretty quick too. :)

Ho boy am I ever going to have words with someone on Monday though. ;)

PS: Tea is good. *pours herself another cup to soothe sore throat* Tea helps with almost anything. (Why do people around here always offer coffee?)

Yes, tea is awesome. My body can't handle coffee for some reason so I've grown up drinking tea despite not being the least bit English. ;) My favs are a good Indian Chai or Jasmine green tea. What about you guys?

I loooove a good cup of proper chai, but I can never be bothered to spend the time MAKING it (and I never have all the right spices anyway). :(

Otherwise, if it's tea flavoured and strong, I'll drink it. ;) My current favourite is Whittards' "Russian Caravan" blend (but I like their Assam and Ceylon, also), although I need to go bulk buy it today just in case they go bust all the way. :( The only one I'm not fond of is lapsang souchong, that's a little too smokey for my likes. And of course I like "silver tippy golden flowery broken orange pekoe" purely because it has such a long, stupid name. ;)

I love that name. You probably get better quality tea in Britian than we do here in Canada. Mostly we get the bagged stuff like Lipton, Red Rose, whatever. To get loose tea, which I prefer, you have yo go to specialty tea stores.

Oh, don't get me wrong, most of the time I just drink whatever was on offer at the supermarket - "PG Tips" teabags, or "Co-op Red Label", or "Whatever they swept up off the floor this week". You still (mostly) have to go to speacialist shops to get anything other than Twinings blends. I just happen to like going to Whittards (http://www.whittard.co.uk/) :) (which was JUST saved from going into administration this month - bah credit crunch! >:( )

I heard about Whittards. A lot of people over on my Dark Fort RPG are Brits so I've been hearing about Whittards all through the holidays. :)

BTW I did this New Year's resolution meme http://thesurrealist.co.uk/newyear and apparently I need to stop gardening with you. And give up books (never!!!) and find a new WW2 (WW3?). XD

I like just about any kind that doesn't taste of peppermint. Green tea, yes definitely, and Earl Grey.
(And I'm not English either.)

Maybe because coffee has more caffeine in? Or maybe you can get freeze-dried coffee that tastes better than freeze dried tea (ugh). I don't know. I'm not a coffee drinker, so... *shrugs* :) I drink way more tea than I ought to. ¬_¬ I can get through 480 teabags in the space of a couple of months.

Nah, people here just don't consider tea.

I can stomach coffee as long as you don't put any sugar in, but I only drink it when I've got a headache. Why would I want something that makes me more nervous when I'm stressed? Not to mention that tea tastes better.

I agree tea tastes better. I don't mind the smell of coffee, but for whatever reason my body can't handle drinking it and I ususally end up sick to my stomach and so jittery I can barely stand.

Caffeine affecting your blood pressure - in a bad way. Coffee is bad both for your stomach and cardiovascular system.

What she said. *points up*

I don't get on well with too much caffeine, either, but I find it sends me to sleep. When I used to pull an all-nighter at Uni, every now and then I'd take a ProPlus to "help me stay awake" - yeah, right. If I went without, I was fine and was even in a fit state to walk home (which was a distance of about 3 miles). If I took one, I was just about zonked by 4am and had to get the bus (on which I usually went to sleep). ¬_¬ So... go figure?

Tea is loooovely. Although lately I've been making the mistake of leaving the teabag in too long and letting it get bitter. Humbug.

They ususally say 3-5 minutes right? Althought I think it depends on the tea.

If I'm paying attention (lol yeah right) I just dip the bag until the liquid that comes out is the same colour as the liquid in the cup. If I'm NOT paying attention, well, 15 minutes doesn't normally hurt it... (except make it cold.) :P

Blargh! I hate cold tea...except ice tea and then it has to be sweetened (I don't get how Americans can drink it unsweetened).

If it's something strong like orange pekoe I can definitely taste when it's been steeping too long. I read somewhere that it's the tannins in the tea that can give it that bitterness.

Actually, it's a regional thing. They say sweet iced tea is a 'Southern thing'. Well, I'll tell ya, I grew up in New Orleans...ya don't get much more Southern than that...and you will find sweet tea NO WHERE in a restaurant there. *shrug* So I grew up drinking it straight up unsweetened. I find that if you get it sweetened in a restaurant...it's TOO sweet. So I either just chuck a couple packets in there if I'm in a sweet mood, or just drink it straight up.

I find more and more...if it's a flavored tea, I'll drink it unsweet. Sweet changes the taste for me. *shrug!* I am a weird, weird chica.

I can honestly say I have never actually had iced tea. The idea of it just makes me go "...but why would you drink it COLD?" Hrm. I guess I just like my nice hot infusions too much. *drinks nice hot tea*

XD Oh, don't get me wrong. I LOVE hot tea. I actually drink mint green tea infusion, it helps with digestion!

Iced tea is...different. :D Quite tastey in the hot dregs of summer. Put a little mint leaves and some lemon in that glass, ice, and pour up the tea. T'is delicious.

XD I should TOTALLY be working *freelancing it today since her employer's computer is totally fubar today*

I might just have to try something like that in the summer, (although we're pretty much guaranteed to have cralfrappy weather again, because we always do). It would give me an excuse to use my ice crusher as well, yaay.

XDD My tea...stronger the better. I actually LEAVE it in for 15 minutes (if I'm paying attention), then pop it back into the microwave. And I don't use a lot of sugar either. *shrug* I just hate weak tea.

I actually can drink coffee...but only just recently. And I really like it after a meal...not too much in the morning when I wake up.

Purpose to this response? Nuthin'. I just wanted to post. XDDDD

I'd probably microwave it if I had a microwave. ;) Or rather, one I knew how to use, as I have one, I just... rarely use it because it's a combo one and it scares me a bit. ¬_¬

Tannin-y tea is blegh, though. I have to have my tea strong, but not so strong all the tannins come out and make it bitter.

See, I have this tea that won't get all bitter. Now...if I leave it OVERNIGHT (as I have on occaision that I actually fall asleep or forget about it), then it's nasty and not salvagable.

I dunno...call me weird.
