The robot is up and running at work, at last. And... you heard of "Ghosts in the Machine"? Well, it's got 'em, and plenty of them. It's... quirky. Whether they're just teething problems or something else, I don't know - they might fix themselves up once we get used to working with it - but Ringo (there's 4 sections, and they've naturally been named after the Beatles. ;) ) had another hissy-fit and went on strike this afternoon, so... we were manually loading it. Argh.
Edit: Thinking about it, a certain robot in my fiction seems to have recently had a hissy-fit and gone on strike, so I wonder if I've given Ringo ideas? *headscratch*

I'm enjoying writing my "other" fiction. :) It makes a change to write about robots/androids that are more "typical" - Ivy's Synth nature is more "subliminal", I suppose - it's an intrinsic part of her, but I don't often play it up too much, since it doesn't seem to me like something SHE would do. On the other hand, my "borrowed" characters are more inclined to play on their non-human-ness since in the TV series they did. :) Muahaha. It's a bit of an experiment, too, since they're more... "rudimentary"? ... than any of my other Synths - and the other characters play on it, too. :) Some of the canon things are taking a bit of work to make "sensible", though - towards the end of the series they were very much playing it up for laughs! Zero snores, for instance, and all the Zeroids "ouch" when they hit the ground from a great height. So I'm having to try and work a way around that. ;) But it's all good, it's fun. I say this every night, but I'm hoping to have something I can upload on the weekend. Yay. :)

*gets back to dancedance*

Edit: (Faithless is inspiring me to surreality. Argh) Writing about "pain" from a Synth POV is HARD.

Make sure that I chat with you some more about the possibilities with your new characters. I'd like to see you use some of those new characters in a more "robotic" type of role, which would include learning about organic beings and generally just helping out and being good companions for people, at the same time as "struggling" to learn about how the organic world works. That's how a lot of my stories work, and you wouldn't believe the number of great scenarios that just flow from that. :)

Hehe, I know all about it. ;) The storyline is coming along quite nicely, TBH, right now - I don't want to go hex myself - but I'd still be happy to gas all day about it. ;) One can never talk too much, in my books, as friends will testify... :P
