Working sketches. Don't know if I'll get them finished, since there's a lot of aspects that are niggling at me, but anyway.

Azure/Bha'zhei:

This one needs a background as much as anything, and I can't think what to put - I don't want some amorphous colourful blob like a lot end up with. I may re-work it, although I rather like her face as it is (even though it's wonky). I didn't want her to be wearing a skirt but I can't get the legs right. *grr*

Malachite/Iios:

"Fear not the dark..."
Having some anatomy problems on this one, not to mention fighting with those little mechanoid-Gii-le he has by him. Grr.

Ideas?

Post those in "The_Anthroids", for one idea... :D

As far as what direction to take the art in... well, Azure is your newer character, but you seem to have the entire idea down that you want to draw. Iios... well, who's that other creature with him?

If you want any other ideas on how to take those synth pics and do some awesome things with them, I have a few. You should do one that's been damaged by battle, or one showing their artificial nature by doing something that no organic being can do comfortably. Be daring! :)

The creatures with Iios are his "dogs", there's one at his side and one behind him - they're small robotic "pets" modelled after the "frog-birds" native to the Vei homeworld, except these can bite through carbon steel whereas most Gii-le don't have teeth at all.

I'm thinking of changing Azure's pose, so she's sitting rather than kneeling, since I can't get the legs going how I want them to, but I'm slowly ruining the paper, and I feel I'll lose the subtlety in the face if I trace to new paper once I'm happy with the anatomy. *snivel* Ohwell. Onward and upward.

It is said that part of art is being willing to completely abandon a work and start it from scratch. So I've heard, at least. Not sure what to say regarding the "synths" themselves, however. I'm curious as to how being part metal affects their personality, though I'm not sure how that has any revelance to this.

Well, they're only "part metal" in that the other parts are polymer-composite and tensile elastomer and... ;) "Synth" = non-human android. I think I'm going to have to start over anyway. Argh.
