New userpics, just... because. Yay!

DuSkai
They're DuSkai because frankly, a creature that can change its skin colour at will is COOL. Plus, anything cuttlefishy is good in my books.

I have some more in the works, but I'm not finishing and uploading them until I can be bothered with getting a paid account. ;)

AND! *edits*
DuSkai - one of my favourites among my species. Partly because they're descended from cuttlefish (liek, YAY), partly because they change colour, and partly because they're cute. :) They started out as supposed to be irredeemably bad, sinister slimy things, but the more I used them the nicer they became, until they ended up as a very honest, down-to-earth and rather pragmatic species; having an empathic link to your fellows means there's not much point to lying, especially if your skin blushes funny colours when you do it.

Yes they are...which means them one of the most evil things in the universe.

Come on Abs...you remember cute = evil right? ;)

Liek, duh! ;)

The world needs more little squid-based creatures, and less freaking moggies, horses and "OMG cute uber-sexed foxie-kins". *brain haemorrhage*

There's already WAY too much evilness in the world. :p

Then again, by your logic, that makes the big scary creatures be the nicest ones. ^^

Heh, the "cute = evil" thing was merely because I've developed a knee-jerk loathing of the word, and use it very rarely. I mean, anything bug-eyed-fluffy-cute HAS to be a TIIINY bit schemingly take-over-the-world evil in some way... ;) Plus, "cute" makes people want to tie ribbons and bows and bells and fluffystuff to thing, which can't be for purposes of GOOD...

(TBH, the real reason I went off the word is because of people who go "aw, foxie, how CUTE!" since fox = not "cute". Elegant, handsome, sure, but not "cute", jeeze. Fox "cute" = cue Hulk SMASH, or something. (Most of them round my way are raggedy and motheaten.))

I have a loathing toward the world, also, but that's why I escape into my fantasies of happy, benevolent, strong beings, like my anthroids. ^^

Nono, the WORD, the word cute. Not the whole WORLD. :) Since some of the world is very nice, to be fair. I just mean the word cute in this case.

Oh! lmao! Well, still, maybe that helps you understand why I like anthroids, in any case. ;)

A lot of people think foxes are cute. Enough, anyway. If nothing else, it makes global domination easier...

Well I do prefer my dragons to be the mean scary types rather then the 'cute as buttons' pocket dragon types...*shudder*

My character, Lurdanjo, is on the "cute" side (see icon), but he's not completely cute in the way his mind works. He's much like me, a bit paranoid, quite dominant, and secretly rather physically sadistic. Appearances are deceiving, I guess. :) Anyway, Danji isn't "cute as buttons", just sort of cute (it's arguable) in his mannerisms. At the same time, I like the mean scary looking dragons, just so long as I can somehow be their friend. :)

Don't get me wrong, I can tolerate 'some' cuteness in a dragon and I definately like yours. :)

Help me out here: How many of H.P. Lovecraft's Mythos monsters were based off of Cephilopods again? I know at least Cthulu is squid-faced....

'Fraid I never read any lovecraft...so I can't help you there.

I know the critter from the movie 'Hellboy' was squid based though: he was cute looking...but obviously a big baddy. *grin*

It's ironic how all the species you've created that I actually bother to check out are the ones you at least wanted to be evil, or are very evil... o_O

That's just bad luck on your part; simple answer = look at all of them *hint* ;) To be fair, I don't HAVE any EVIL species - some aren't particularly NICE (the Nyen are probably worst but even they aren't unforgivably bad, just... tend to operate on the wrong side of the law. ;) After all, I have a couple who are NICE, it's just that one was a prostitute-turned-government-spy/stripper and the other was in a drug ring. :) It's not just what you do, it's how you do it. ;) )

Anyway, DuSkai are love (http://www.deviantart.com/view/7496238/) in small packages. :)
