All gone weird

My new storyline has gone all stupid; I'm not sure what I ate for supper last night but it really made my ideas go all weird - and Iios got into a rage and showed what he's capable of (at least he had a semi-reason for doing it - can't say it made Eri any happier, though). :P
I think I need to beat the idea with a stick and get it back into order.

“No, no, no, Iios, just listen for a second! You killed them! Six people, and you killed them! And now you’re telling me it was for me?! How in Gavos’ name am I supposed to interpret that?! You might as well have let me kill them myself, for how it makes me feel!”
He drew himself upright and stepped back, his eyes flickering with an almost inscrutable mixture of hurt and confusion. “But… Eri, they-… I couldn’t let them do that! I couldn’t let them hurt you…!”
“I understand that bit!” She threw her arms out to the sides, feeling powerless to make him understand. “But you killed them! You have the brainpower that you could have done almost anything to stop them, but instead you choose to just kill them!”
“…Eri…” he held out his hands to her, imploringly. “If I did anything else we’d have lost our cover. We’d have been found. They couldn’t-”
“No, don’t you start that again, I won’t let you start that again!” she cut in, and sank to the chair, trembling. “Gavos, I’d begun to think I understood you – and that you understood me – and you go and do this? And for such a… a stupid reason. How is someone understanding a secret a good enough reason for killing them?”
“They were nothing, Eri,” he whined, helplessly. “Nothing. No-one would have missed them. They were scum! They didn’t deserve-”
“Who in Alopeia’s name do you think you are to decide who is and who is not worth letting live?” she was almost shouting, and close to sobs. “Gavos be damned, Iios, you’re not some sort of higher life form, you’re a mobile computer. You have no more right than I do to decide things like that!”
He’d already physically recoiled from her words. He opened his mouth, as if to speak, but nothing came out – he just shook his head, dumbly, backing away. …I am more than the sum of my parts, I must be more than the sum of my parts… please let me be more than just the sum of my parts…
She closed her eyes and leaned her head into her hands, trembling. “All right,” she said, aloud. “…all right. We have to come up with something. We have to come up with some sort of plan of where we were, in case anyone asks. Deny all knowledge. Who knew we were there…?”
But silence greeted her words, and when she glanced up, she found he’d vanished.

May post the other bit/more later, but I'm at work now *hides* (okay, well, lunch, really. too, many, commas) and I don't have it with me. Plus of course I ought to try and get the FIRST idea finished, but pfft this is more interesting. ;)
(note: "Gavos" and "Alopeia" are Vul deities, not an alternative name, so it's like saying "Christ", or something. Just in case anyone wondered why she was randomly saying names :P)
Edit: (23:01, at home) Okay, so it's rather biased. ;) Might make more sense here:
