I have GOT to get out of this place. Seriously. The kitchen bin has proved the last straw - I was doing a little experiment, to see how long it'd take my flatmates to take the initiative to empty it, and when they FINALLY got around to it on Saturday, they just tied the top and dumped it on the kitchen floor. Even thought it was VISIBLY HEAVING WITH MAGGOTS. I've left a snarly letter stuck to the fridge (shades of "for f'k's sake people, I'm not the only one who lives here, what is WRONG with you people? Do you think there's a MAGIC KITCHEN FAIRY comes along and does all the work?!") but come ON. I have SO got to get a place of my own. That way there's only me to blame if the kitchen gets untidy, and seriously, I have NEVER had maggots in the kitchen until now - not even when I was in that foul university kitchen seven years ago.

I'm surprised "Magic Kitchen Fairy" isn't a brand name yet....
Hmm... No, let's just abandon that train of thought.

Getting roommates is a science akin to throwing knives straight up in the air and hoping they don't come back to hit you in the face. The only ways to get people that lazy to take initiative is by force or necessity - the latter yielding the experiment's results (i.e. as long as you exist to do it for them, they won't) - the former requiring actual force - Blackmail, threats, or violence, though the latter is usually frowned upon.
